Overview
We partnered with Overlap to build the mobile app behind its social travel community — helping digital nomads, frequent travelers, and adventure seekers turn crossed paths into real connections through Connection Alerts, travel-style matching, and a shared world map.
The challenge
Travelers meet interesting people constantly — then lose touch the moment the trip ends. Overlap needed a way to turn those crossed paths into real connections, not just another app for tracking where you’ve been.
The solution
Connection Alerts that notify travelers when their plans overlap with friends or like-minded nomads
Travel-style matching across profiles like Digital Nomad, Backpacker, Business, and Family Travel
A visual world map tracking countries visited, upcoming trips, and wishlist destinations
Shareable Travel Recap cards for Instagram and Facebook
Social sign-in (Google, Facebook, Apple, email) and real-time push notifications, built on React Native, TypeScript, and Firebase
Results
Overlap launched on both app stores with a 5.0 rating on the App Store and 4.7 on Google Play, then joined Pangea to bring its travel community into one unified platform.
